Equipped with Samsung Display’s QD-OLED, TVs by Samsung Electronics and Sony were selected as Best 4K TV by Rtings

Rtings is a globally-famed product review website that purchases products for its reviews. Its popularity has been built on honest reviews uncompromised by big corporations or their capital.

To select the Best 4K TV products, Rtings purchased and tested a whopping 375 TVs and categorized the best products. Among the ~400 candidates, Samsung Electronics’ S95B and Sony’s A95K, both equipped with Samsung Display’s QD-OLED, were selected as the Best 4K TV in the 65-inch and 55-inch categories. The reviews praised the products for boasting “fantastic picture quality” and “remarkable color volume,” and being “remarkable for HDR content.”

QD-OLED is a self-emissive display that uses QD (Quantum Dot) and OLED. QD is a self-emissive material that is super-fine, as it is only a few nanometers (a nanometer is 1/100,000 of two strands of hair). QD-OLED Powered by Quantum BlueTM, developed by Samsung Display, offers a variety of colors in high purity by using blue light as the light source and combining it with the QD material.

QD-OLED supports the widest color gamut (BT2020 90%) among the displays that exist today and reproduces not only dark colors but bright ones closest to reality.

The products that Rtings recognized as the best for reproducing colors previously unseen, and offering the best image quality without any distortion from any viewing angles, use the 2022 version of display panels. This year will bring products equipped with the 2023 version of QD-OLED that have upgraded technical capabilities. One of the hallmarks of the 2023 version of QD-OLED is the enhancement in the combined peak brightness of R, G, and B, to over 2,000 nits by using even more advanced AI technologies and state-of-the-art organic materials.

The Rtings reviews reached out to a wider audience to inform them about the unparalleled colors and image quality delivered by Samsung Display’s QD-OLED display panel. It only fuels our curiosity about how far the image quality of TVs can evolve with the 2023 version of QD-OLED. Please stay tuned to find out more about the impressive achievements of QD-OLED.
